Primavera Rafaleña

El inicio de la primavera en el hemisferio norte tuvo lugar el pasado domingo 20 de marzo. Esta fecha marca el comienzo de esta estación también en el municipio de Rafal, que concluirá el próximo 21 de junio. Tenemos así por delante 92 días en los que disfrutar, antes de que llegue la época más calurosa del año, de temperaturas cada vez más agradables y cálidas. Días que se abren al visitante como flores al sol, que cada vez calienta un poco más nuestra tierra con sus rayos.

Rafal presenta muchas oportunidades de perderse entre los caminos y veredas de su paisaje de campo. Municipio agrícola desde sus inicios, cuenta con una estructura herencia de los árabes, cultura que introdujera no solo el cultivo de cítricos, sino también la plantación de moreras y de algodón. Estas circunstancias, junto a la vuelta al horario de verano, nos regalan una hora más para pasear por sus calles y, por supuesto, también por la característica huerta que rodea la localidad para deleitarse con las vistas, mejorar la condición física al hacer ejercicio y empaparse de su tradición agrícola, que proporciona la materia prima de nuestra rica gastronomía.

Así, se nos llenarán los sentidos de todo aquello que la primavera rafaleña consigue estimular: los diferentes colores de los frutos en crecimiento que podemos observar, aunque destaquen, entre otras hortalizas, las tonalidades de verde, naranja y amarillo de las típicas alcachofas y árboles de naranjos y limoneros. El aroma de azahar y de huerta recién regada; el rumor del agua moviéndose en las acequias que rodean el municipio tras las últimas lluvias… No te lo pienses y ven a conocer Rafal en esta época del año.

Springtime in Rafal

The beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere took place last Sunday 20th March. This date marks the beginning of this season also in the municipality of Rafal, which will end on the 21st of June. We have 92 days ahead of us in which to enjoy, before the hottest time of the year arrives, increasingly pleasant and warm temperatures. Days that open up to visitors like flowers to the sun, which is warming our land a little more and more with its rays.

Rafal offers many opportunities to lose oneself among the paths and lanes of its countryside. An agricultural municipality since its beginnings, it has a structure inherited from the Arabs, a culture that introduced not only the cultivation of citrus fruits, but also the planting of mulberry trees and cotton. These circumstances, together with the return to summer time, give us an extra hour to stroll through its streets and, of course, also through the characteristic orchard that surrounds the town to enjoy the views, improve our physical condition by exercising and soak up its agricultural tradition, which provides the raw material for our rich gastronomy.

In this way, our senses will be filled with everything that spring in Rafalejo manages to stimulate: the different colours of the growing fruit that we can observe, although the shades of green, orange and yellow of the typical artichokes and orange and lemon trees stand out among other vegetables. The scent of orange blossom and freshly watered orchards; the murmur of the water moving in the irrigation channels that surround the municipality after the last rains… Don’t think twice and come and visit Rafal at this time of the year.
